Regional Weather Discussion...At 910 pm...Widespread rainfall continued over the eastern half of Oklahoma as the remnants of former tropical storm hermine moved toward central Oklahoma. Over the last couple of hours... The heaviest rainfall has remained just to the south of the Oklahoma city metro area. Rain gages over grady and mcclain counties have reported rainfall totals of four to six inches... With flash flooding likely occurring over some areas. Through 10 pm... The axis of heavy rainfall will shift slowly toward the northeast... With locations from prague... To shawnee... And purcell likely receiving an additional one to two inches of rainfall. A line of showers and occasional thunderstorms had also developed south along and just east of interstate 35. Heavy rainfall is likely with this line... Although it should be of shorter duration than the precipitation further north. Ponding of water on roadways and flooding of poorly drained areas is possible as the line moves toward the east. The threat of heavy rain...Which could LEAD to flash flooding...Will persist mainly to the east and northeast of the low center as it moves northeastward across central and into northern Oklahoma tonight. If you live in or have interests in flood-prone areas...It is a good idea to start taking steps to minimize flooding impacts by activating your flood safety plans. In addition....Isolated tornadoes will remain possible in southern Oklahoma through the evening.
